A Christmas Carol

Tonight Jord, Ayla, and I went to see "A Christmas Carol" at his grandpa's theater. It has been four years since we have seen it. It was nice to see again after so long. Plus it gets us in the Christmas spirit. Ayla was pretty good, which we worried about. She loved it. She wanted to go out and dance on the floor during intermission, which she did. We got a picture of her and her great aunt Jacci. She plays the spirit of Christmas past. The santa is actually Jord and I's sis-in-law's dad. He gives out candy canes to the kids after the play and is the spirit of Christmas present. The only bad part of the night is when Jord reminded me that I would be turning 30 in a couple of days. I looked at the clock and at that very moment it was 37 hours away. I am so dreading being 30. I guess there is no turning back, might as well embrace it. In case I don't get on anytime soon. Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope you enjoy your day.

Ayla and Lily

Ayla has not been too fond of Lily as of yet. She tolerates her more than anything. She usually throws a fit about me holding her the minute i start feeding her. While I was in the hospital I was nursing Lily and Ayla wanted to know what i was doing. Jord thought it would be a great learning opportunity and so he showed her and explained it to her. Well when i got home from the hospital i found her on the couch one day feeding her baby. I just had to take a picture. Also, because of some major swelling I had I was using a donut to sit on and you can see her sitting on it in the pic. She had to do it just like mommy.

Idaho

The past couple of weeks have been fun spending time with my parents in Idaho. I got to see my new little niece, Tessa, for the first time. She is so tiny. She was born four days before Lily and Lily looks about a month older. She is such a cutie.

We had to make a quick trip down to Utah for some doctor appointments. Lily had her two week check and the doctor said is diagnosis was "perfect". Then i had my appointment to have things checked out. The doctor said that things looked good and I possibly may not need to have surgery. My sutures had come out of my episiotomy and she had never had that happen to her before so she was not quite sure what to do about it. It was a very painful week though. So now i just have to meet with the general surgeon next week for my hernia. We will see how things go from there.

Lily May

Well it has been awhile since Lily was born. I have been spending time in Idaho with my parents while I got better from some post delivery issues. After 12 hours of labor i ended up with a hematoma that was excruciatingly painful. Of course, my epidural had started wearing off right before i had to push and then had no numbing when the hematoma occurred. I had been in labor for 11-1/2 hours and only dilated to a 5. They were worried about having to do a repeat C-section because she was showing signs of possible distress. Luckily, I dilated from a 5 to a 10 in 30 minutes because the little girl had decided to wrap the cord around her neck three times. I am so glad that things turned out okay. I guess i will just have to be wary about cord issues with future pregnancies. It seems like a recurring theme for me.

Lily May is here... and she's pissed!

Ok, so she's not pissed. Actually she's super cute and sweet. We've been getting a lot of calls from everyone wanting to see pictures of her so I wanted to come and post them. When Jenn is feeling better she'll hop on and give her play-by-play from yesterday.

In the meantime here is my play-by-play... Jenn got prego back in February and now Lily is here.

Happy Halloween!

So Ayla was tinkerbell this year. I had bought her an outfit two sizes big and it was still too small. Luckily my sister-in-law happened to have one from her girls. She got so many compliments last night. I took her over to see her Grandma Olsen first and then met Jord at home. I had not heard that our ward was doing a trunk-or-treat, but when we got home our neighbor asked if we were going. It was already 6 and had started at 5:30. We hurried over and hit a 5 or 6 cars that were still handing candy out. She even got to see her friend Taylor (who was not dressed up because she had just gotten her tonsils out that day). Then Jord took her around the block while I went home. Walking was just not very comfortable yesterday. When she got back she was so excited because her pumpkin had "lots of candy in it." So here are the pics. Enjoy.

Too much trust?

So Ayla got this prize at her friend's Halloween party last week. She found it today and so I decided to let her open it up. It was a disney princess stamp pad with some stamps. I wasn't really sure if I should let her play with it, but I figured she could do it once and then I would throw it away. I showed her how to use it and then walked away. I came back to find that she had taken the ink pad and stamped it all over her hands. I guess it is a good thing Halloween is tomorrow. I can just say it is part of the costume maybe. I don't know, Tinkerbell getting in a fight with another fairy and winning?

Baby Update.

Well I had my appointment today. My doctor is not going to be in the office before my due date so I am going to start seeing the doctor that delivered Ayla. If I go clear to 40 weeks again this baby will be another 8 pound baby. How fun for me. She is so adorable though, and a wiggle worm. She wouldn't hold still long enough for the ultrasound tech to look at her heart. So the plan is just to wait until Lily decides it is time for her to come. It is just nice to how have a better idea of who will be delivering and what will be going on in the next three weeks.

Thanksgiving Point

Ayla and I spent the day with some of Jordan's family at Thanksgiving Point today. It was such a beautiful day to go too. We went and enjoyed some yummy sandwiches at the deli and then Sandy and I took Ayla to their little Halloween thingy there. It had a lot of things for kids to do. She was jumping on this trampoline thing. They had one for little kids, which worked well. She thought she had to go on the big one with the big kids though. It freaked me out because I was just waiting for her to go flying and roll down the mat. She survived though. They had this pumpkin tree, but I didn't get a picture of it. It is made of wood and they have all these carved pumpkins on it. At night they turn the lights on inside them and they light up. They were pretty cool. She enjoyed the cow train ride through the pumpkin patch. When they came back I went to get her out and she put her hand up and said, "No out." She is so funny sometimes. She loved the many slides they had there too. She just kept running back to get in line to go down them. She looked like she was getting worn out, but amazingly she didn't fall asleep on the hour drive home. It was a pretty fun day and it was nice to spend it with my little sweetie while she was having a blast. Here are some pics. Hope you enjoy!

Just My Luck

So I had my doctor appointment today. I have 30 days left until this little one is due. I got a call last week that my doctor had an emergency and they needed to schedule me with another provider. So I go in to see the midwife today. The nurse started taking my blood pressure and then started asking me if they told me if I knew that my doctor would be out of the office for four weeks. What??? After he said he would make sure he would be around for this delivery this time. (He was out of town when I had Ayla.) I just happened to glance at my blood pressure and noticed it was rather high for me, 133/82. He apparently had a heart attack last year and he had gone into the hospital to have an angioplasty. He would be in the hospital and then recovering for awhile. Just my luck. When the midwife came in she brought the blood pressure machine with her. She said they were going to retake my blood pressure because it just wasn't normal for me. I told her it was probably cuz i was freaking out about the situation the very moment they were taking it. She laughed and said probably so. By the way, my blood pressure is great, 119/72, as expected. So I am kind of just in limbo as far as what will happen. He could possibly be back two weeks before I am due, but definitely the last week I am due. So I guess that is some good news. I went clear to 40 weeks with Ayla so they are pretty sure that I will make it to the end and be able to have my own doctor deliver Lily. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but I do not want another C-section and not every doctor will do a regular delivery after a C-section. Anyway, i was really hoping to get this little girl out at least a week early, but i guess i will have to keep her cooking for longer. Maybe it is a sign that I should change doctors.

Boy Was I Wrong

So yesterday Jord and I went to his brother's play at Weber State. It was supposed to snow yesterday and and as we were driving there it was all sunny. I told Jord I just didn't think it was going to snow. Well during intermission I went to use the bathroom and there were huge snowflakes coming down. So I guess I was wrong. Of course we were clear up on the mountain side. It didn't stick, which it wasn't a surprise. Then this morning when I woke up at 5:30 I looked outside to see that it had snowed some. Wrong again. Finally, Ayla woke us up at 8:00 to find 5 inches of snow covering the ground. Let's just say I was COMPLETELY wrong when I said I didn't think it was going to snow. It started melting even though it continued to snow for about another 6 hours or so. Oh, and just a side note, WEBER BEAT MONTANA STATE!!!!! They are now nationally ranked 12. It is about time they finally have a decent team. It has been a long time coming.

Holy crap, the Internet!

Hi everyone, this is Jordan. I know I'm using Jenn's user name and your first thought was "Sweet! Jenn just posted a new blog! I can go check out what's going on in her life." Well sorry to disappoint you but it's just me, Jordan. And I really don't have anything that interesting to say. I'm just taking up a lot of space and frankly I'm wasting your time. You'd think I'd be a bit more appolgetic about abusing the Internet but I'm sorry, I'm just not.

You're still reading? Didn't you see how I said I was just wasting time? Seriously, precious time. How much free time do you have in the day? Like 30 minutes, right? So are you sure you want to waste 2 minutes of that free time reading this? I mean, that's like 1/15 of your daily free time. You could be watching One Tree Hill (OTH is the official acronym I found out tonight by reading one of Heather's posts) or debating the issues facing our upcoming Presidential election.

Ok, since you're still reading I'll give you a nugget of valuable information... Jenn is freaking hot! Honestly, she is beautiful. I think Jenn is most beautiful when she's pregnant. It so amazing to see her at the peak of womanhood, cooking a baby in her stomach. And she's sitting next to me right now and she doesn't even know that I'm posting this. But seriously... H to the OT!

Also, just to get you up to speed... Jenn is now totally into the new 90210. She watched it tonight and I just know she's going to start DVR'ing them and watching them each week. Now instead of just watching House on Tuesdays it'll be House and 90210.

K. That's all I have. I'm really surprised you read all that. But that's cool that you did because you stuck around long enough to get the most valuable information of your year.... which is.... your lucky numbers: 24, 13, 2, 87, 45, 11

Dropping!!!!

So the past few days I have had a real hard time trying to keep my pants up. I dawned on me that it is probably because the baby is dropping. My pants just do not fit the way they used to. So I am hoping this baby comes at least a week early. That would be really nice. Hopefully I don't have this baby before Nellie does though. Or the worse, at the same time. Well I officially have 39 days to go and I cannot wait until Lily is here. It will be nice to have my body back and not have this dang hernia.

I'm back for the second time this month!

So this week has kind of sucked. Ayla and I got back from South Carolina on Monday. Yes I still have not put pics up yet. Maybe one of these days. Anyway, so while we were gone Jordan had absolutely nothing to do. Then the week we get back he has four shows. Somehow I have been handling it. He actually had a show in Park City last night that was really good for him. The booker really liked them and wanted them to come back for Sundance to possibly open up for Cake, a band that he and I like. So I am glad for him that some shows work out good for him. I just really missed seeing him this past week. He was on Park City Television for one of their art programs and on Thursday. I got back from volleyball and Ayla and I watched it. She was so excited to see her Daddy on the t.v. She didn't quite understand the concept though because she kept saying "Daddy talk." She even started crying when he wouldn't talk back to her. She is so funny. She really misses her dad when he has his busy weeks. Well maybe I will post pics from the trip in the next day or two. At least the ones that my sister's have not put up already.

My Past Week.

Last weekend Jord decided that he wanted to go on a mini vacation before Lily came. He pretty much is booked with shows and military drill every weekend until November. So we decided to go to LAva. Unfortunately the cheapest place to stay was like $80 and you didn't even get your own bathroom or tv. So we ended up getting a hotel in Pocatello. Jord came home Friday night from work and decided we should just leave that night and go to mom's and dad's for the night. Unfortunately still had work to do before we left so we didn't even leave until 9:00. We were planning on going to the Pocatello Zoo, but mom said she heard it was a crappy zoo and we should go to Tautphaus instead. So we went to the zoo there and then did the rides afterwards. Ayla really enjoyed the airplane rides and the octopus. I couldn't really get a good pic of her on the octopus because everytime they were in front of me they were backwards. AFter that we went to POcatello and got to the hotel and relaxed for a bit. Then we swam in the coldest swimming pool i have ever been in. The next day we went to Lava and swam there for a couple of hours. We wanted to get pizza there, but nothing was open. So we ended up going to Pocatello and eating. It was really nice just to be together as a fam and just relaxing and enjoying time together.

This Wednesday Ayla and i went swimming with our friends Taylor and Lindsey over at my brother-in-law's house. Ayla has really learned to love the water from swimming there. She even jumps off the diving board all by herself and swims the length of the pool with arm floaties. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bad day. We were taking them down the slide and doing okay. They had got done with the slide and were just swimming around for awhile. Then Taylor decided she wanted to go on the slide again. So Lindsey put her on the slide. She was ready to go down and Lindsey was going around to the end to make sure she went down okay. All of a sudden Taylor came falling backwards eight feet down the steps of the slide. She ended up landing on her head. We had to call 911 and she went to the hospital. She had lost concisousness for a minute. She ended up having a fractured skull on the top of her head. She is doing okay, but it sure makes you realize anything can happen to your kids at any time. I have definitely been loving on Ayla a lot more than usual since then.

I had my doctor's appointment this Wednesday also. Everything was great, except for i have a femoral hernia. I have had this lump in my groin area and some excrutiating pain in my leg for at least two months now. Apparently, it is supposed to go away after i deliver and i will just have to deal with the pain until then. Tylenol just isn't doing the job. So other than that, only 10-1/2 weeks to go. Yipee!!!

Well Ayla woke up Thursday at midnight with a sore ear. I was afraid it was an ear infection. Of course Jordan had left for Cedar City for a couple of shows that night and wouldn't be back until late Saturday night. The whole next day it was so sore you couldn't even touch it. Luckily for me, mom and dad were stopping in for the night. They always seem to be here just when i really need them. She didn 't sleep very well Friday night. She kept waking up almost every hour and then Saturday early at about 3:30 a.m. she finally fell asleep and stayed asleep for the night. Her eardrum had ruptured and started to drain. I drained the next day and i thought it was going to be okay, but it still stunk pretty bad. So we went and visted her doctor today and found out the eardrum is still pretty nasty. We got some antibiotics and ear drops and hopefully all will be well. He said he would just need to check on it in 3-4 weeks. It was then that i remember we would be flying in two weeks. He said that if it had healed up it might give her problems, but if not she would be fine. So what do you hope for, a long recovery so she is okay on the plane or a short one so that she gets better sooner.

All About Jordan

Jord was complaining to me yesterday that he didn't have any pics of himself on the blog. So here are some pics of Jord. I told him the problem is that he is the one always taking the pics. In fact, some of the pics here are of him taking a pic of himself. You now officially have more pics of you on here than I do. I love you Jord.
