Temple Square

I have a lot of catching up to do, but for now here is one post. We have a tradition of going to see the lights at Temple Square every year with our friends Jimmy and Sara. This year mom had to bring Nicole, a previous foreign exchange student, to the airport to fly back home. So they ended up going with us on a freezing cold Sunday night. We didn't stay as very long because Ayla and Sara's little girl, Charlotte, were getting too cold. I got a new camera for my birthday and found this awesome function on it where you can choose a color in the shot that you want to be the only color in the picture and the rest goes black and white. I got Jordan to get this awesome pic of the temple and a tree with red lights by it. I just love it. I think I might get it blown up to hang in my house. The others are some pics of all of us and some of the lights.

Random pics

Lily likes to rub her head, maybe because her hair is finally starting to come in. She loves to pull hair, hence the reason I just chopped mine off. I figure that is why she does it to herself because she finally feel her hair. Anyway, Ayla thought she had hurt her head. I was busy doing something and then all of a sudden I hear Ayla say, "There, all better." I turned around to find this.

Happy 1st B-day Lily!

I can't believe my baby is already 1. The year just flew by. I made her a ladybug cake, but only had neon dye for the frosting. Ayla had been calling it a Lilybug so that is what we decided it was. I was afraid she would eat way too much of it because she loves food and will eat almost anything. Almost anything, but cake. She didn't care at all for the cake. Oh well. We had Jord's family over for dinner and cake. She got some new toys and pajamas to wear. We would have had more pics, but had the video camera going instead. Lily is such a cutie and we love her all. Happy birthday sweetheart.

Halloween

Here are some pics of my cute little girls. This year Ayla was a vampire and Lily was a bat. We would have taken more pics, but the camera batteries died.

Football

So last night Jord and I were sitting down to watch some tv and relax. We turned the tv on and sunday night football was on. Ayla said that she wanted to watch football. She thinks every football team that plays is the wildcats. We told her we weren't going to watch football. She was pretty adamant about it. So she went in to our bedroom, turned on the tv, and proceeded to watch football by herself on my bed. I can't believe a 3-year-old would choose to watch football by herself. I went in to check on her at one point and they were reviewing a play. She looks at me and says, "That was a touchdown." She is such a character.

Time on the road is tough

So I've been on the road for about 9 days with about 9 days to go. I'm missing Jenn and the girls really bad. I love playing music for a living, but it is a really, really hard thing to be away from my sweet girls. I come to this blog each day to see their cute faces. Jenn sends me picture txt's as well so I can keep up. But nothing is the same as being with the people you love.

Keeley Jo

Keeley came into town yesterday. She called when they were leaving the airport. She hadn't met Lily yet and could not wait until Thursday to see them. I wish I could say it was me she couldn't wait to see, but I understand. Once you have kids you are always the last to get a hi and a hug. Can't wait to hang out with you on Thursday Keeley Jo!

Crazy Sleeper

I, probably like most parents, check on my kids before I go to bed every night. A couple of nights ago I went to check on them and this is how I found Lily. Talk about uncomfortable. I have the most wiggly sleepers.

My Silly Girl

Ayla is getting excited to start school this week. Yesterday she had found her backpack that we bought a couple of weeks ago. She noticed that I had put her crayons and markers in there for school. Then she noticed that I had written her name on her backpack. She thought that was so cool. She then went on to say that I needed to get a backpack so I could go to school. I told her that I didn't really want to go to school and that she could go instead. She said, "Mommy, no! You need to get a backpack and write Ayla.....um....Mommy Olsen on it and go to school." She cracks me up. Gotta love 3-year-olds.

Dinosaur Park

We went to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden with the other cousins. It is pretty cool. They also have a ton of gems and minerals on display and where they came from. They also have a little playground outside and a pathway where you can learn different dinosaurs. It was pretty fun, until Ayla decided to run off and get lost. Completely freaked me out for about a minute, but one minute too long. Needless to say, we left right after I found her. Lily tuckered out. I had laid her down and immediately she put her feet up like this. Made me laugh.
Ayla my little cave woman.

Riding some type of dinosaur. Wish I could tell you which one. Guess someone didn't learn a lot that day.
Playing on the toys.
Unearthing some fake fossils in the sand.

Hogle Zoo

On the 4th Heather, Jake and Hunter came down to visit and we went to Hogle Zoo and to eat afterwards. We thought the kids would enjoy the animals more, but they just really wanted to run around.Hunter taking pics.

Ayla taking pics again. She always has a hard time moving her fingers out of the way.
Lily just couldn't take it and ended up falling asleep. Too cute.

Catching Up With the Blog

I figured I was better get working on my blog or I might have a year's worth to do before I knew it. We took Ayla to the park the other day to get some pics of her. We haven't edited them at all, but here they are. We took some of Lily as well. Don't mind the messy hair. If anything, this would be a true pic of Ayla. I have such a hard time getting her hair done most days and then it just ends up being a mess after her nap anyway.

So Lily took a bottle when I needed her to for the first three months of her life. Then all of a sudden she wouldn't take one. It has been very hard. Anytime I had to leave for an extended time I always worried that she was going to be a bear for Jord. So obviously I didn't leave for very long at all. Three hours was the absolute max. Then all of a sudden five months later she decides she will start taking one again. Although, only if it has juice in it. It was funny to watch her try and drink out of a bottle again. It was like she had no idea how to suck on it. I caugher her holding her bottle so funny today and went to grab the camera. When i went to take it she dropped the bottle and just smiled at me like she knew she was getting a pic taken of her. I tried to get her to hold it the way she had it, but she went back to holding it normal.

ANA 2009

Last weekend was the ANA reunion. What is ANA you ask? Well my side of the family has so many reunions that it was getting confusing when we were talking about reunions. You never knew which one we were talking about. So Jord just mentioned the ANA reunion last year and it stuck. ANA is Ardery Nyle Andrews. Jord and I were in charge of it this year. We went up to one of Jordan's favorite camping places. It is near Kelly Canyon near Ririe. Actually Jake and Heather went up early to scope out a new place. It was a really nice place. Thanks guys! It had a little creek that we could keep coolers in and keep cold. It also opened up down stream to a little pond that the kids loved playing in. Jake and Andy brought some four-wheelers to play on. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance. Kids and all you know. We didn't get as many games in this year as we previously have. That is one of my favorite things about camping is just sitting around with my siblings and playing games. We have decided we are in a new era in our camping life. No longer can we have our fun. We have to have kid fun. So for the next 10 years or so we will just have to make camping fun for the kids and enjoy it with them. Which shouldn't be hard. Cuz isn't camping in general just fun!
