Options

A conversation had between Ayla and Jord one night while I was trying to get her to go to bed.

AYLA: Options. (Jord and I look at each other thinking, did she just say options?)

JORD: What?

AYLA: Options dad. You have three options. (Jord and I snickering while she begins to hold fingers up.) One, you play with me. Two, you go to sleep. Three you play with toys.

JORD: K, i will go to sleep.

AYLA: No, no, no. Dad you have two options. One, you play with me and two you go to sleep.

JORD: Okay. I pick option two, go to bed.

AYLA: No, no, no. One option. You play with me.

Sounds like someone listens to their dad too much. Love it!

Adventures of Hammy

Ayla's preschool class has a pet hamster named Hammy. Each kid gets a turn to take Hammy home and then draw a picture of what they did with Hammy and put it in a book. Ayla has been wanting to take Hammy home for weeks now. Well on Tuesday it was finally her turn. She was so excited. All she did for two days was play with Hammy. I forgot to take pics of the pictures she drew for her book, but she did help me with one that we put on the fridge. They watched tv together for a little bit. They went to the park a couple of times. They took naps together. They even did a puppet show. And yes, the hamster is just a stuffed puppet. I would never take on a real pet hamster, especially with a 3-year-old. Anyway, here are the pics. Enjoy!

Ayla's Dora Picture

This is a picture I found on the back of one of Ayla's preschool papers. It is the first real picture of a face that she has drawn. I thought it was so cute and asked her what it was. She told me it was Dora. The lines on the mouth are teeth by the way. And for some reason she is adamant that her name has a Q in it.

Ayla's New Dog.

Ayla has a new friend. Apparently it is a little pink dog, one that only she can see. I would tell you its name, but I haven't quite figured that one out yet. It does have the words Toy Puller in there somewhere. She and Lily were taking it for a walk around the house the other day. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. They were hand in hand just walking circles through the kitchen and down the hall to their room. So cute. So yesterday I was busy getting Lily dressed when Ayla came up and asked if I wanted to pet her dog. I said sure and began to pet the dog that was in her hands. Or at least I thought it was. She then looks at me and says, "Mom, it's down there." as she points to the ground. It would be so much easier if I could just see these imaginary things.

More random pics.

This is when we went to Idaho for Christmas. It was good to see Nicole again too. She was one of my parents' foreign exchange students from Germany.

Temple Square

I have a lot of catching up to do, but for now here is one post. We have a tradition of going to see the lights at Temple Square every year with our friends Jimmy and Sara. This year mom had to bring Nicole, a previous foreign exchange student, to the airport to fly back home. So they ended up going with us on a freezing cold Sunday night. We didn't stay as very long because Ayla and Sara's little girl, Charlotte, were getting too cold. I got a new camera for my birthday and found this awesome function on it where you can choose a color in the shot that you want to be the only color in the picture and the rest goes black and white. I got Jordan to get this awesome pic of the temple and a tree with red lights by it. I just love it. I think I might get it blown up to hang in my house. The others are some pics of all of us and some of the lights.

Random pics

Lily likes to rub her head, maybe because her hair is finally starting to come in. She loves to pull hair, hence the reason I just chopped mine off. I figure that is why she does it to herself because she finally feel her hair. Anyway, Ayla thought she had hurt her head. I was busy doing something and then all of a sudden I hear Ayla say, "There, all better." I turned around to find this.
