The LIfe of a Mother.

I had a terrible night last night. Part of it is my fault. I have a bad habit of going to bed late. I figure by the time I get the kids to bed I need "my time" and it usually goes to late. So I went to bed about 1:00 and was just about to fall asleep when Ayla woke up. She does this every night. She is on like a four-hour cycle where she wakes up after sleeping for four hours. She throws a fit if she has to go back to bed. Another thing that is my fault is that I have allowed her to come to bed with me. I am just too exhausted to deal with it and know i will get more sleep if i just let her sleep in bed with me. Then at 1:15, just as i was about to fall asleep again, Lily woke up. So i fed her. She woke up again at 2, 3, and five because her binky fell out. Then at six she had to be fed again. I had just fallen asleep when i heard a loud thump. Ayla had fallen off of our bed. Now our bed sits up pretty high and it was about a 3 ft fall or so. I jumped out of bed and picked her up. She said she hurt and so I took her to the kitchen to use a dimmer light to look at her. She had a massive bloody nose and a fat lip. The poor girl. So i ended up cleaning her face, hands, hair. It was everywhere, including all over me. So finally at 6:30 everything was cleaned up and I was ready to go back to bed for a couple more hours. Well my darling little girl decided she was done sleeping and wanted to watch Dora. I couldn't go back to bed and ended up just working the morning away. Gotta love being a mom!

That is a horrible night. Your amazing you can survive on little sleep. I would die. When I have a newborn I go to bed around 9:00 because after feeding a baby 2 or 3times in the night, I still get 6-7 hours of sleep total. I wish I could survive on less but I can't. Your a trooper. I hope you can get a nap sometime during the day!
